NOTE: OMG Just realized I spelled Four as For! 😦 Please excuse my stupidity with not spelling…I’m too lazy to fix it now. My bad. Its supposed to be the number, not the preposition.
Hello Hello 🙂 I’m back with a chapter! yay! But, before I dive into it, there are a few things I need to say. First about this chapter, its rather short compared to the previous ones. But, there will be a lot of dialogue. Plus, I had to make up for the last, lengthly one lol.
Second, is about my actual busy life. I’m in my junior year of college, and as of yesterday I’ve had all of my classes. Hate to say it, but this semester is going to be busy. VERY BUSY. I’m retaking chemistry which is going to be hard itself because I’m not a chemistry person haha. I have a healthcare leadership/management class that has way too much work for the three credit class. For some odd reason I have Learning Java, a simple computer programing class? My major is Healthcare Administration..why do I need to be able to code programs? My Intro to Business class looks like the easiest class…..
SO what I’m trying to say is updates might be slim since the weekends (if that) will be the only time I’ll be able to play sims unless I get ontop of my work (won’t happen). I apologize. Didn’t realize this semester would be so shitty.
Okay, I think we are ready to proceed 🙂 There shouldn’t be any Profanity used in this chapter, so no need to be warned. This is a happy chapter, I promise!
After what seemed like being verbally attacked once again by another woman, whom is associated with Almond, I decided to lay low for awhile. Let things soothe over. I could feel a lot of tension on me from Elixir. Straw suggested I should of told Almond about it, but that’s not what he needs to hear. It’ll just sound like I’m trash-talking his best friend on the basis of one conversation. I don’t want to lose him as a friend either. I’m sure she was just letting me know what the boundaries were. Problem is, I’m not interested in pursuing Al in a romantic way. I really just want to be friends, and if I tried to, I would fail miserably. If I were to be mistaken, it sounds like Elixir might have a little crush on Al, and gets jealous from any other woman who he associates with. But, whatever her reason is, I’ve been avoiding people lately. After class and writing bits and pieces on my novel, I slip off to the library and read books for references. The library is such a peaceful place. You lose yourself easily. Made me forget about the real world for a little while. One of my favorite parts about literature.
I was in the middle of reading a……um, a romance novel. I was finally starting to break into early parts of the plot. It’s a great love story written by one of my favorite authors. He just knows how to pain a picture and make you feel like you’re right there watching the scene unfold. On rare occasions he even knows how to make you feel like you are one of the characters. He hits personality notes perfectly.
I was slowly starting to slip into this alternative world with these two wonderful characters, a voice came through. I would of ignored it if it wasn’t so husky and deep.
“Indiana? Very interesting title for a novel.” a man’s voice questioned
My eyes shot up at the figure standing over me. Three words came to mind as I stared at the man looking down at me. Tall, dark and handsome. Oh my berry. Certainly glad my mouth was hanging wide open at the time. I must of been staring long enough to make him feel uncomfortable though.
“Hmm no response? I hope I didn’t spook you too much.”
I didn’t realize I was holding such a compelling stare at him. I quickly stood up to face him, and I could feel my face starting to turn a rosy, pink color. Holy berry, this man was one, good looking man. I had to take a mental, deep breath before speaking.
“Hello there. And um yes, the title is a little misleading I suppose. But, its by one of my favorite authors. Its a great love story, about a French noblewoman and her search for true love during her miserable marriage. If you haven’t already, I would highly recommend reading it sometime. Even if romances aren’t you’re thing, its still a great story to read because of the themes and imposing questions being asked throughout.” I explained
“You must be an avid reader I take it?” he asked with a smile
A gorgeous smile, might I add.
“Hehe, yes I am. I’m actually a writer and studying Literature at the university here. Reading is a great way to develop you’re own writing style and for brainstorming. Especially since I’m hitting writer’s block lately. How about you?”
“Actually I do haha. In fact, I was curious about you when I saw you since I pretty much know the regulars of the library and you are someone I haven’t seen before. I try to get to know everyone who comes here since its nice to have intelligent conversations with other readers and find out what people’s preferences are. I always learn something new.”
“Oh really? That’s great! I’m always looking for feedback from people too. Haha funny how that works out.” I chuckled
“That is funny haha. Guess its a good thing I walked over and inquired about the book you were reading. Oh, I almost forgot. I probably introduce myself so we aren’t just two strangers having a conversation. I’m Choc Bean, and you are?” he gestured
“Nice to meet you Choc. I’m Clementine Moscato.”
“That’s a very pretty name. Nice to meet you as well.”
“If you don’t mind me asking, but since I revealed what I do. What is it you do?” I couldn’t help but twiddle my thumbs around as I asked
“I guess that’s fair. I actually graduated from the university about two years ago, and for right now I’m still doing my clinicals before I become a full-fledged surgeon that people trust. I have to build confidence in that matter too. ” he answered
“Wow. Congrats on your clinicals! I hope all goes well for you with that.”
“Thank you. But, enough about me. I’m more intrigued by this novel you mentioned that you are writing.”
“Oh? Hehe are you sure you really want to know? I don’t want to bore you.” I nervously let out a giggle
“Haha you’re cute. Of course I do! Not everyday you meet a writer in the flesh.” he laughed
“Alright. Don’t judge, its only the first novel. All through high school I focused on poetry and short stories. I’m probably taking a jaunt with the writing a novel, but never know until you try. So far, I’m going for a strong, female protagonist. I want her to emulate qualities that I seem to lack. This character is very personal since she’s slowly starting to become my alter ego. I haven’t broken any ground on the plot since that’s where I’m having writer’s block. I don’t have an antagonist either. So far I’ve delved into her history and background. Its a slow process.”
“Sounds like it. I like the idea for your main character though. You seem to already be challenging yourself by writing a character that isn’t someone you know a lot about. As you said, alter ego. It sounds like a very, berry idea. Though, it might be geared towards women more than men, it still sounds like something someone should read. Almost sounds like a soul searching type of theme or identity crisis theme. Hopefully you get over that writer’s block soon.”
“Awe thanks. That’s sweet of you to say. I feel like you already know so much about me now, and I know so little of you.” I let out a small smile
“Haha yeah, sorry about that. Sometimes I ask too many leading questions. My apologizes.” he sarcastically smiled
“Haha no its alright. I like stimulating conversations like this. I guess I’ll just have to keep up with your questions.”
“Oh really? I have a better idea. How about we discuss each other over dinner sometime?”
“Haha……what did you say?” my lips moving slowly from a curve to a straight line
“Go to dinner with me? It will be fun. I promise.” he smiled big
My straight face quickly turned into a tiny smile. This beautiful berry of a man actually wants to go out to dinner with me? Is he really asking me out? no. He can’t be. My smile quickly turned serious once again. I felt my body tensing up and becoming uncomfortable. I was starting to feel shy. Do you say yes Clem? What? Why are you even asking yourself that. Of course you do! Just look at him!
“Is that shy look a yes then?”
“Oh, um. Hehe yes. We can go out to dinner. I’d like that.” I smiled back
“Um, Clementine. I can’t pick you up or contact you without a phone number…..” he playfully raised his eyebrow
“Oh. Haha right.”
He pulled a pen out of his coat pocket and I wrote in down on his hand, and he wrote down his on mine. What are the chances of meeting someone this nice on a day that I’m trying to avoid people? I just hope when we do go out, that I don’t make a complete fool of myself.
Hope you like:) Thanks for reading. Not sure when the next update will out. I’ll probably get Chapter Five out, and then switch to another legacy of mine. So except a break after Chapter Five.
Back with part two! My game was crashing so it took a while to get this out, but I solved that problem. Now I just have to figure out why my computer is acting so slow, something happened to it over the holiday? It worked Wednesday night, and then Thursday something happened over night. Might just have to work with it…also I’m trying out new eye defaults, so next chapter they might look different. I liked the one I have but, I guess I want a little more realistic? I’m not sure, if all else fails I’ll return to the ones I originally had. Also, part two is a little shorter, but there was no way I could combine both parts into one. And once again, this will be told from Meringue’s POV, otherwise noted.
When I didn’t hear an answer from the knock that she heard earlier, I started to feel nervous. I couldn’t even hear someone breathing on the other side of the door. Was I hearing things? Great, since I’ve been so low in the dumps now my mind is starting to go too. I was about to turn around and go back to bed, when I heard the knock again. This made me jump since there was only about two fee in-between me and the door. I gasped, and tried to compose myself.
“What Do YOU WANT?” I screamed through the door, showing how horrified I was
There was a pause, and then finally someone spoke up.
“Oh? um, hello?….Uh hi there. I’m sorry I didn’t mean to scare you!” a man’s voice stammered
“Well you did and what do you want?”
“Well, I’m sorry to wake you up in the dead of the night, but my car broke down the hill and you were the only house that had a glimmer of light on, and I need to use a phone since my cellphone doesn’t have any service here.”
So there was someone out here. I debated whether to trust the man’s voice. He sounded sincere, but what if this was some con artist or something? I know that sounds like I’m paranoid, but honestly you can’t always trust people. I and the few neighbors I have live on the hill of town, people only come up here if they live here or when its daylight out. I went over it again and again in my head, and I couldn’t just leave him out there? Plus, his story was plausible since service is pretty crappy up here on the hill.
“Uh are you still there?” he called out
“Oh! Yes I am sorry! You can definitely come in and use the phone, please come in!” I called back
And so I did. I opened the door and stepped back to give the stranger some room. I smiled and said hello once again, and then apologized. He smiled back and told me it was alright. Glad he didn’t think I was rude. Once he finally got all settled in kitchen and I got a good look at him. He was orange berry, very sophisticated looking. Actually he was very good-looking, and I’ve never seen him around around town. He’s dressed well too, looks like he’s somebody important. Then I looked down at myself and completely forgot I was wearing my pajamas! Ohmyberry how embarrassing! I tried to shake off my embarrassment, but I’m sure he saw it. Ugh, of course that would happen to me.
After awkwardly staring at each other and recognizing the vibe of the room, he finally came up and started a conversation since the silence was getting to both of us. I probably looked like a rude berry for not introducing myself or saying anything, great job Meri. Oh well, he made the first move its over and done with right?
“Are you sure its no trouble? I really don’t want to impose, I know its very late and I’m sure you have a busy day ahead of you.” he worried
“No no, I told you its fine. Its hardly any trouble. Plus, you’d have to go all the way across town to find a public phone anyway.” I explained
“Well alright then, as long as you’re okay with it.”
He seemed like a nice guy to me anyway, if he really wasn’t here because his car broke down then he wouldn’t be so friendly right? He sure knew how to make a girl smile, I can’t seem to stop every time I look at him directly. Then again I did mention he was good looking? One of the best berries I’ve seen that’s for sure. While I was keep in thought analyzing his looks he broke into my thoughts.
“Oh, my name is Tangerine Sherbert by the way. But, please call me Tang. Its a pleasure to meet you.” he smiled
“Nice to meet you as well Tang. I’m Meringue Moscato, but I go by Meri.” I smiled back, feeling bashful
“That’s a very pretty name, are you originally from the area?”
“You mean Apple Loosa Pie?”
“Yes, sorry I’m not actually from here.” he laughed
“Oh, well yes I am. This is the house I grew up in actually.”I marveled
Interesting how he wanted to know more personal information, but again he seemed like a nice guy and its not like I’m giving him my bank account number.
After I answered those two questions, his face became more reserved. Then once again awkward silence fell upon us again. I wasn’t really sure what to say since I already told I him he could use the phone. He eyes darted to the floor, as if he was embarrassed or too nervous to say something to me. I thought that was odd, especially since he was being so social. Then the scary thoughts came rushing back to my head about maybe he was some kind of con-artist. I tried not to think that way, so I thought I would just ask him.
“Is something wrong? Other than the predicament you’re in at the moment?” I asked
“Oh well yes and no. Since I won’t be able to call a two truck in the morning and I’m not originally from the area, I was visiting today I don’t really have anyone to call until the morning and no place will check me in this late in the night. I was wondering…if maybe I could room here for the night? I know that’s probably creepy and a lot to ask of from you, but I don’t know what else I could do.” he explained
My first thought was no, but then I thought of his situation and his reasoning and he was right. This was the only option for him. I didn’t really think it over since I highly doubt he’s a bad person and will take my kindness for granted. So I nodded in agreement he could spend the night, but only the night I’ll make sure of that.
“I have a spare bedroom, so let me show you it.”
“Its not much, but it’ll work. It actually used to be mine some years ago.” I smiled
“No, its fine. It’ll do for tonight. Its cozy looking and once again thank you very much. You’re very kind for letting me stay the night, even though you just met me.” he thanked
I couldn’t help it, but I just kept smiling and felt comfortable wit him. Like he said, I just met him. But, somehow its like we’ve known each other for decades. I’ve never felt that about anyone, not even Apple. It was definitely a strange feeling.
“Used to be your room huh? Well I’ll be sure to take good care of it then”
“Haha well I certainly hope so!”
“Hopefully it won’t be too weird having company though.” he let out a small frown
“Oh no it won’t be. I was starting to feel a little lonely to be honest. My friend just got married and moved out not too long ago.” I admitted
“Oh, well I don’t know if I’m sorry to hear that since I”m sure you’re happy for her, but I’m sure you’ll find something to fill the void.”
“You’re probably right.
Eventually we were once again just standing in front of each other running out of small talk topics, and that’s when I realized I wasn’t really tired anymore and he didn’t look close to passing out either. I suggested that we chat in the living room, and I could make some coffee. He agreed that it sounded like a good idea. So we sat down and talked until we finally both tired enough to go to bed .
“It’s just the craziest thing. I was about to go up the hill out here and my car died. I wonder if my battery went bad or something. Sure doesn’t make my first visit here very welcoming haha, but hey, the worse things sometimes happen in the best places right?” he joked
“Hmm that is weird. I don’t own a car, so I can’t tell you anything other than that. I usually walk everywhere or bike, and if necessary use the taxi. You’re first time visiting Apple Loosa Pie eh? Well welcome! Hopefully you have a better stay starting tomorrow.” I reassured
“Haha well thank you.”
“I’m actually in town for work, so I don’t know how much fun it will be, but I’ll try my best.”
“Oh, well that doesn’t sound like much fun at all. Hopefully you’re client or whoever you came to see will understand you’re situation.” I frowned
“Oh I’m sure he will, if not I can always reschedule since technically he works around mine. Work is work though, right?” he smirked
“Yeah, definitely. It has to get done, whether rain or shine.”
Alrighty! That’s part two for you! I didn’t realize how long it actually would become, but I”m glad its longer. I’m not sure when the next update will be out, but I’m hoping it won’t be another month. Otherwise, enjoy the downloads available, and everything else 🙂 Hope you guys are getting ready for the Christmas Season!
Hello hello! I’m so sorry for the long wait in-between updates! Hard to believe that its been a little over a month. I worked on my two other projects which took longer than expected, than my game started crashing so I had to get to the bottom of that, and then since thanksgiving break is this week and after that I’ll only have two-three weeks of school left its cram time. Soo that’s what’s been happening in Beth’s world. Its definitely been hectic, but I’m hoping with the long awaited Christmas vacation I’ll get a lot of simming done and that’s when I’ll get most updates out before school starts up again. So shall we get started? Oh, and yes this chapter is divided into two parts because there’s no way I could fit everything in one full chapter, it would of been way too long. And remember all chapters will be told from Meringue’s POV.
After Strudel stormed out and left me there picking up the pieces of what just happened and how it all went wrong, all I could do was sit at the edge of the bed. I didn’t want to, but all I could do was cry. I felt the tears stream down my face, I wanted to stop, but couldn’t. Deep down I knew he wasn’t worth crying for after the way he just treated me. What kind of berry does that? I felt terrible, shook down to my core. I know Apple or Deci heard it all, and now what am I going to say? Apple is going to complain and offer to kick his berry butt I just know it. I feel so stupid, and just want to shut the lights off and sleep. Somehow I had to pick myself up from letting this horrible person in.
The next morning when I woke up, I was preparing to face either Apple or Deci. One of them would approach me and ask me about everything. When I slipped out of my room, of course Apple was right there with twenty questions. No getting past her anyway I thought.
“Meri, are you alright? I mean me and Deci both heard your fight with Strudel, and he had no right to say those horrible things to you. I’m truly sorry you had to endure that.” she said with sympathy
“No no, I’m alright. I just really have to look at things, and not be so trusting. Everything is fine.” I muttered, avoiding eye contact
“Meri? Are you sure, or do I need to go tell me off? Seriously no man should ever speak to a woman that way.”
“What?! No! He’s gone and and moved on. He’s not coming back, let him be. I don’t want to ever see his face again.”
“I feel so bad that I ever introduced you two. I feel so responsible for everything. I mean literally its not, but I can’t help but take the blame for how he treated you. I’m so sorry Meri.” she sighed
“Oh Apple, its not your fault by any means. How would you know what his true intentions were? Besides, I know you had my best interest at heart and in the beginning I thought he did too, but we both were wrong. ” I explained
“See, you say that and I honestly am understanding what you’re saying, but I can’t help but feel guilty still. “
“Well, I guess I can’t help how you feel but know its not your fault by any means. He was a great guy, but even greater at disguising his true self.” I frowned
We both stood there in silence not really knowing what else to say or what to think of the situation. I wanted to leave the house and go outside to clear my mind some more, but I had a feeling Apple wasn’t going to let that happen, and I was correct. She was the first to break the silence.
“Well enough dwelling that berry hole, I have some great news!” Apple practically cheered
“Oh really? What’s that?” I asked and a little surprised
“Deci proposed to me last night! We’re getting married!”
“Oh my berry! Really?! That’s great Apple! That is so exciting!” I smiled
In between our screams, cheering and jumping around, I just pictured what the proposal looked like. Deci wouldn’t of done it romantically, but he meant every word with all his heart. I can only imagine how excited Apple was last night and can’t believe she could hold it in that long before telling me haha. It was truly great. I couldn’t be happier for her, especially since she first came here because thing weren’t going her way, and now they’re looking up. But, now look at me. I’m in reverse.
“So when is it going to be?” I blurted out
Knowing Apple she’s been dreaming about his moment since she came out of her mother’s womb. So I didn’t hesitate to ask.
“I was hoping by the end of the summer. I know that seems quick, but I don’t plan on it being big, and its going to be low budget since I just want us to start living our lives together as soon as possible.” She replied quietly
“That’s perfect, and sounds good to me.”
“Oh, Meri we were wondering if we could stage it in your backyard by the garden?” Deci interjected
“Why is that?” I was a little surprised to that request too
“Well, first off you and Apple are good friends, and you’ve accepted me and I consider you a friend. Plus, Apple’s told me what you’ve done for her, and how she can’t repay you enough, and we both think your garden is beautiful for a summer wedding.”
“Well than of course you can have it in the backyard. I don’t mind, and it would be an honor to host your wedding. It will be great moving out present.” I nodded
I was happy and sad when hearing the news. Happy because like I said, Apple has found her someone special. Someone who will always be there for her, and who she can start a family with and instead of worrying and me, she can worry about herself. I’m a little sad because that means once again I’ll be living alone here, and probably be alone again since she’ll be busy with being a newlywed and probably will start popping out babies. I’ll just go back to my usual routine with no spontaneous moments from her.
Over the next few weeks we started planning because we had to plan fast and accordingly. The end of the summer wasn’t too far off, only about two months if that. We had to get the decorations down, the color scheme and the set-up, and of course the dress. Apple was definitely in wedding bliss because anytime we would watch a wedding show, show would get super excited and be all smiles. It was fun for awhile, but I have to admit a lot of work goes into those weddings. I was more excited for dress shopping because Apple can pull off anything.
Which wasn’t too far off either haha, I think the week after we got all the logistics and technical planning done, it was time to splurge and have fun with the wedding dress. She told me not to get a maid of honor dress since I didn’t need one signifying who I was, and she was right. Plus, she told me to wear something nice and it’ll do. We went to the local retailer in town, and went on from there.
“What if the dresses make me look huge? Oh! and I don’t want anything poofy and ballgown like, some classy, and sleek.” Apple explained in front of the mirror
The first option pulled was definitely Apple’s taste, and what she wanted. To be honest I really liked it, it shaped her body well and she looked beautiful. But, Apple on the otherhand didn’t.
“Hmm I don’t know if I like the one shoulder or the design at the side, looks to berry carpet for me.” she complained
“Well then, let’s try another one.” I suggested
Even though she said she didn’t want poofy or anything, she tried on a short, frilly one. I honestly didn’t like it, it looked like a cheap, prom dress or hamey-down prom dress. I did like the shoes though.
“So?” Apple turned around and asked
“Um, I don’t like it.” I whimpered
“Its too frilly, and prom-dress looking. I don’t want you looking like that.”
“Oh. Yeah, I don’t need to be looking like a cheap prom date. Thanks Meri.” she smiled
The next one she put one was very elegant and classy for me. I wasn’t too keen on the halter top, but it still looked nice. I was sleek, classy and just a touch of fun in the front.
“Oh. my. berry. I think this is the one!” Apple squaled
“Really?! I do really like it! I think it has everything you were looking for!” I smiled
“Then its settled this will be my dress. Thanks for coming Meri.”
Eventually that long awaited day came too. We this beautiful, handmade arch that we decorated with flowers. Apple loved it, and along with wooden benches it was beautiful. I was so happy I could share this moment with her. When she left for college, I thought she’d be gone for good and there went my friend. Not that I wish any of the misfortunes she had, but I’m glad it lead her to come back home. Plus, she found a really great guy.
It was a beautiful ceremony. They both looked stunning, even if Deci dressed a little more casual. The lighting of the aisle, my garden and the stars just made everything emanate a romantic glow. I was truly happy for her, and excited that they chose to have it here in my backyard. All the other guests liked the location too, outside weddings were common here since berries love to show their closes, especially at weddings. I can now call them Mr. and Mrs. December Lime haha. I’m just kidding Apple would hate me for that, but its going to be hard to remember that for awhile. Hopefully I still see her frequently. I know newlywed bliss is inevitable, but hope she doesn’t forget about her single friends. Its going to be sad to see her move out next week into Deci’s place, but she cant’ live with me forever. It was marking a new era, and ending a remarkable one for both of us.
A Few Weeks Later:
Apple didn’t waste anytime moving out, which makes me a little sad since it makes me feel unimportant, but I know that’s not true. Like I said, I just went back to doing my normal activities. Working on my garden and selling my yields. I also had to gear up for winter since that’s why I don’t have much income, but winter doesn’t last very long here in Apple Loosa Pie so its not all that bad.
I spend most times at home, unless I’m at the farmer’s market. I’ve debating about trying dating again, but it seems like there’s no one I like or who I think would be into me. There aren’t many guys my age at the farmer’s market, and I’m not into the corporate type, plus I’ve already tried that. I guess I’m really starting to realize how alone I am, and what Apple was trying to say. It makes me sad to think my life has come to this. I don’t want to be alone forever. I want a family of my own and a man who loves me for who I am. I think I have a lot of thinking to do over the winter.
A Few Days Later:
Oh my berry! I swear to berry there was something or someone knocking at my door tonight! I am so scared and freaked out right now. Its close to midnight, and I just went to bed not too long ago, but right as I fell asleep I heard a few knocks. At first I thought I was dreaming. What do I do? What if its somekind of berry killer or they want to steal from me? I slowly got out of bed, and they kept on knocking. I started walking towards the kitchen and I figured I’d peek out the window to see who it was, if I knew them.
When I made it to the kitchen, I stopped and stood there listening. Of course this person kept on knocking and most of the lights were off, so I was a little confused. I was still scared, and my heart was beating a mile a minute. I don’t do well with meeting strangers and I honestly don’t trust people not after what I had to deal with earlier in the summer. I stared at the door, then I figured I’d say something and see if I recognize the voice.
“Uh hello? Can I help you?” I called out
That’s it for part one 🙂 As you can see I had to leave a little cliffhanger since the chapter would of been too long. I’m hoping this is the only two-parter but we’ll see. I hope you guys enjoyed it, and I know its a little fast, but it was crucial to building Meri’s character too. Also, I hope you guys are and will be enjoying Thanksgiving! I’m hoping to get Part Two out by the end of my mini vacation. Also, I wasn’t going to put December Lime up for download since he was a quick, madeover townie, but if you really want him let me know.
